NYPA and Canals’ Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Nancy Harvey is a tireless advocate for the rights of traditionally underrepresented groups and a driver of enterprise-wide cultural change.
Since 2013, Nancy has successfully led the implementation of DEI-related initiatives enterprise-wide, including leadership development programs for BIPOC and women employees, implementation of six Employee Resource Groups, investigation of EEO complaints, accessibility under the ADA, and associated training and thought leadership.
Before joining NYPA, Nancy served in leadership roles at the Battery Park City Authority and at the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. Nancy is a certified diversity practitioner and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accounting from the City University of New York, Baruch College. She received her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and is licensed to practice law in New York.
A trusted advisor to senior leadership, trustees and colleagues, Nancy was named Tri-State Diversity Council’s 2023 Woman of the Year, and later that year the Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council honored her for Advancing DEI in the New York State Workforce.
