Ken Kristensen is a Program Director for NYPA's transmission project management team. In this role, he is responsible for leading a team of project managers to execute a portfolio of transmission projects across the state. Projects include upgrades and replacements to transmission assets, new substation buildouts, transmission line replacements, sensor deployment, communication and relay protection network modernization, and various other types of projects. As part of the management team, Ken is passionate about building diverse teams to bring a wide range of perspectives to our projects and solutions. He advocates for stronger collaboration among project stakeholders, promotes accountability, and ensures recognition - driving greater project success and team cohesion. Prior to Ken's sixteen years at NYPA, he spent eight years in various roles in the consulting engineering and project managment fields. Ken has a mechanical engineering degree and is a licensed NYS Professional Engineer. When Ken is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family at his kid's sports events, skiing, hiking, and fishing.
